Civil Project Engineer (PE Registration is Required) Job Purpose, Duties and Responsibilities The role of the Civil Engineer is to implement a competitive, successful engineering strategy, dedicated to work on civil, hydraulic, water/wastewater, transportation, building and plant infrastructures. This role provides efficient support for other team members and professionals to the growth of TLC. The purpose of the TLC engineering team is to deliver high-quality products on time, on budget, and to meet client demands while complying with engineering specifications and industrial standards. To achieve this goal, the project civil engineer shall play as a team player, ensuring that engineering specifications and client requirements are met, and that all design and submittals schedules are adhered to. The Civil Engineer shall also provide dedicated support to operations and business teams in the development of competitive proposals. Duties and Responsibilities Be a safety role model; maintain safety awareness and zero accidents and injuries in all work performed. Manage relationships with colleagues to be a good team player. Contribute to high standard products, client satisfaction, and company profit goals. Work in compliance with project requirements and specifications on all tasks assigned in projects. Work on multiple projects in parallel toward on-time and on-budget deliverables. Take full responsibility for assigned tasks including but not limited to civil, structural, and utility disciplines. Provide accurate and timely reporting to team leaders and project managers for outstanding problems or conflicts. Coordinate effectively with project teams and align with colleagues to work as a united team. Be responsible for quality assurance on engineering tasks assigned in any type of engineering consulting work. Provide feedback in a timely manner to colleagues, team leaders, and project managers in design coordination. Capitalize on lessons learned from previous projects and individual experiences. Motivate colleagues to provide suggestions and recommendations for technical and organizational improvements. Efficiently manage design calculations, design change records, project documentation, and design submittals. Assist in project developments by providing required calculations and sketches/drawings to support proposal activities. Required Qualifications BS in Engineering discipline, with emphasis on Civil, Hydraulic, Water, or Structural Engineering. 8-12 years of experience with at least 3 years in civil, hydraulic analysis, water/wastewater, or structural engineering consulting practices. TXDOT certification or the ability to get certified by TXDOT is desired but not required. Trackable record of engineering consulting experience to contribute deliverables on-time and within budget. Wide range of knowledge and experience in both civil and structural disciplines. Demonstrates solid knowledge in civil engineering and high potential in problem-solving across diverse infrastructures. Initiative and capability to solve engineering problems and challenges encountered on various projects. Familiarity with design specifications and industry standards, such as IBC, AASHTO, FEMA, OSHA, etc. Proficiency in civil, structural, hydraulic, drainage, pipeline, and other related computer design programs. Knowledgeable in the application of mathematics, engineering mechanics, and engineering materials. Experienced in utilizing design drafting tools such as AutoCAD and MicroStation. Proficiency in the application of office and documentation programs such as Microsoft Office and Mathcad. Hands-on experience in civil design, construction management, and inspection in landscaping, pavement, street, roadway, hydraulic/hydrology, water/wastewater, drainage, utility, pipeline, etc. Willingness to work on structural design, construction management, and inspection in buildings, industrial plants, bridges, culverts, retaining walls, foundations, and other infrastructural systems. Strong culture around safety, working targets, time control, schedules, and project deliverable processes. Clear and effective communication with the project team and management. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Additional Qualifications Experience working in a multicultural engineering environment. Ability to motivate other team members through leading by example. Able to influence others to gain consensus and action. Experience with environmental studies and traffic control design.
