Job Overview The Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) announces an examination process to create an eligibility list to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Chief Medical Officer. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to four (4) months. We participate in the HRSA Loan Repayment Programs. The Chief Medical Officer is a public health physician under the direction of the District Health Officer, or designee, that will plan, direct, manage and oversee the clinical activities and operations of the Southern Nevada Health District, which may include oversight of one or more Divisions. The incumbent will have direct patient care responsibilities in addition to their operational responsibilities. Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience: Completion of accredited medical school and Preventive Medicine or Primary Care Residency program and, Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in public health, health care administration, public administration, business administration or a related field. Five (5) years of clinical experience with both adults and children Ten years of management experience in an administrative position. Management experience in a local, state or national public health department, program, organization or agency highly desirable Required Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and certificates being maintained in active status without suspension or revocation. Ability to obtain a license to practice medicine or osteopathy in the State of Nevada within six (6) months of employment is required. Certification in public health and/or preventive medicine by the appropriate specialty board is preferred. Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid Nevada driver’s license.
