CMA - Family Medicine Location: Rockaway, NJ Start: 3/3/2025 Shift: Monday-Friday 8-5, there may be half day during the week but the same day every week is not guaranteed/The schedule may need to change to a start time of 7:30am in the future or potentially a later end time. Submission Requirements Qualifications or Education, Training and Experience At least 2 years of similar job experience in a medical office preferred, minimum 6 months experience required Familiar with EKG, Phlebotomy and Patient Care Certified or Registered Medical Assistant certification required CPR certified required Experience on EHR and EMR systems, Athena preferred Knowledge of pre-authorizations and referrals Certification Requirements BLS Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team. As a key member of our practice, you will create a strong first impression for our patients and ensure they receive high-quality care. You will assist clinical providers with patient evaluations, perform vital sign assessments, update electronic medical records (EMR), and support the overall efficiency of the practice. Duties and Responsibilities: Assist professional nursing staff by providing direct patient care, including preparing charts, taking temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respiration, and performing screenings. Prepare patients for physician evaluations by obtaining and documenting vital signs, past medical and social history, and updating EMRs. Maintain practice workflow by organizing exam rooms, ordering supplies, screening patient requests, and performing POC testing as directed by providers. Perform blood draws and assist in diagnostic tests when required. Observe and report symptoms, patient reactions to treatments, and any concerns to the appropriate medical staff. Ensure efficient patient scheduling, including initial evaluations, follow-up appointments, and cancellations. Conduct appointment reminder calls with professionalism and courtesy. Demonstrate effective communication skills with patients, providers, and staff to enhance customer relationships. Maintain confidentiality and uphold HIPAA, OSHA, and company policies. Assist with administrative tasks, such as answering phones, faxing, filing, and greeting patients. Keep medical supplies stocked by monitoring inventory and placing orders. Maintain infection control and safety protocols while ensuring a clean and organized work environment. Support daily practice operations by ensuring timely patient flow and minimizing wait times. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by providers, coordinators, and management.
