Job Description: The MA acts as a liaison between patient and Physician. They help to educate patients in the use of common medical equipment, medications, life style changes and routine care. Medical Assistants escort the patients to exam rooms, assist in clerical and procedural duties as directed by Physician. Medical Assistants are trained to triage, gather and document patient complaints, as they relate to the medical care provided by our Physicians. Details: 13 week contract role - at the end of the 13 weeks, will convert to a permanent position Floating between Euless location and Alliance 40 hrs/week Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm Start date ASAP Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Works efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, clinical environment. Fluent in Medical Terminology. Follows documented protocols and procedures. Updates medical history based on the information provided by the patient. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Empathetic to patient’s needs and concerns. Follows all HIPAA and privacy rules while discussing sensitive health information with the patient or their authorized delegates Verifies and updates patient insurance and demographic information. Schedules appointments and queries clinical information from the System. Works well with a diverse group of professionals in a team environment. Follows all clinical safety protocols and infection control procedures Back Office Medical Assistant duties may include: o Reviews patient history and reason for visit. Prepares exam room with equipment and supplies according to visit type and adhering to Universal Health Precautions. Manages patient rooming to efficiently meet daily appointment schedules. Reviews presenting issue, visit notes, history, orders, and updates appropriately within the EMR. Confirms all EMR templates for completeness prior to the visit. Escorts patients to the exam room to maintain a smooth patient flow with the physician, with flexibility to the exam sequence, as required. Communicates with the Check-In Staff to facilitate efficient patient flow (cycle). Sanitizes medical supplies and properly disposes of used materials. Qualifications \\MUST have an active up to date Medical Assistant certification\\ CPR certification- active and current \\1-3 years experience as CMA\\, preferably in a Primary Health Care setting.
