CDL Haul Truck Driver - Primoris Heavy Civil Job Category: Operations Craft/Technical/ Labor Primoris Heavy Civil is currently searching for experienced CDL Haul Truck Drivers. This position will start mid-October. Job Description: The Haul Truck Driver will need to have knowledge in tying down equipment and experience in running equipment such as bulldozers, front end loaders, and excavators. Responsibilities include loading equipment onto a class 8 tractor and trailer with a capacity of more than 80,000 lbs. General Requirements: Practice safety rules. Follow verbal and written instructions. Safe use of hand&power tools. Report to and assist immediate supervisor. Perform quality work as determined by project specifications. Accountable for all tools and materials at the end of your shift. Must work well as part of a team. Functional Requirements: CDL required Class A, 10-speed manual transmission with tanker endorsement. DOT drug screen/physical. Driver must be in DOT compliance at all times. Must be registered DACH. Move hand and foot levers to control operating equipment. Interpret hand signals to determine where materials are to be placed. Assemble or disassemble equipment or material on construction projects. Manipulate equipment on unleveled working surfaces. Start engines, move throttles, switches, and levers, and depress pedals to operate machines. Signal truck driver to position truck to facilitate loading of dirt, rocks, and other materials. Inspect truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, water, and all fluids, and perform pre and post-trip inspections. Inspect material to ensure it has been loaded correctly and is secure and review shipping documents to verify all information is accurate. Qualification Standards: Two (2) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (Commercial Driver Licenses). Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation. Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of themselves or others in the workplace. Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.). Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.). Physical Requirements: Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol abuse policy. Must be able to pass physical examination, pre-employment if necessary, and as required by the company. Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc. Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces. Able to carry 50 lbs. of tools and/or materials. It is recommended to get assistance to lift items over 50 lbs. Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time. Must be able to work extended hours on uneven surfaces. Must be clean shaven and able to work while wearing a respirator and other personal protective equipment when required. Location: Industrial construction sites and/or fabrication shop Mobility Barriers to Access Job Site: Obstructed pathways, work performed at low and/or high elevations, work performed in confined areas. Climatic/Environmental Conditions at Job Site: Predominately outdoor climate, may be exposed to extreme hot or cold weather, various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc., potential exposure to chemical substances.
