Job Description
We are seeking a security supervisor to hold the position of Captain at a high-end residential gated community in Delray Beach. The Captain is second in command of the security department. They shall answer directly to the Director of Security and bring all matters of concern or detected deficiencies to the attention of same. General Qualifications of Uniformed Security Officers: Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or other related fields Class "D" license required (TEMPORARY "BLUE"/ACKNOWLEDGEMENT CARD OK) Class "G" license required (Preferred) Familiarity with security equipment Ability to handle physical workload Strong attention to detail Exceptional customer service skills Professionally presentable Males must be clean-shaven and cannot have style haircuts such as braids, ponytails, dreads, etc. Candidates cannot have facial tattoos and/or facial piercings with exception to earrings (females only). Patrol and gatehouse experience in residential communities HIGHLY preferred Clear and concise command of the English language required Armed candidates must be willing to take a psychological exam within 10 days of hire Armed candidates must ultimately supply their firearm. Firearm must meet company qualifications and must be approved prior to carry. Essential Duties&Responsibilities of the Captain: Ensure that ongoing training is being conducted with and for all personnel within the Security Department. Must be aware of and report to the director, all pertinent incidents that occur on the site. Oversee weekly inspections of officers, vehicles, and gatehouses. Oversee equipment inventory and ensure all equipment is in proper working order, and inform the director of any equipment that may be deemed sub-standard or inherently dangerous to utilize or operate, faulty, in disrepair or in need of replacement. Responsible for performing all duties as specified in the site's standard operating procedures manual. Monitor both the reporting official program and the operational shift supervisors to ensure compliance with job descriptions and responsibilities. Assist line supervisors as required ensuring continued operational standards of service. Conduct both probationary evaluations on new supervisors and yearly evaluations on other assigned line supervisors. Conduct daily inspections of all gatehouses to ensure proper sanitation and organization is maintained. Conduct weekly inspections of all assigned patrol vehicles to ensure proper preventive, scheduled and unplanned maintenance is conducted, and that vehicle cleanliness and sanitation is maintained. This shall include all additional equipment such as radios, fire extinguishers, First Responder equipment, etc. Ensure proper ongoing training of line supervisors as required or as specified by the Director of Security. All other tasks as designated by the Director of Security on an ongoing basis due to mission requirements.
