Organization: Specialty Holding Unit Job Summary: The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing professional nursing care for patients including assessment, treatment, care planning, and medical care evaluation by following established standards and practices. Assists physicians and staff in coordinating patient care. Functions as primary liaison between patients, staff, and physicians. Hours of Position: PRN, night shift position (7p-7a), minimum PRN commitment is 4 shifts in a 6 week schedule including 1 major and 1 minor holiday per year. The successful candidate will work in the Emergency Department with a focus on caring for behavioral health patients. The ideal candidate will have a Psych RN background or be an ER Nurse with an interest in behavioral health. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Obtains patient consent for care and ensures patient confidentiality. Obtains and documents health history, information on chief complaint, vital signs, and health risk factors. Executes prescribed treatments and medical interventions, administers prescribed medications, and monitors and documents treatment progress and patient response. Educates patients and families about health status, health maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions. Participates in multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care processes and outcomes. Maintains patient confidentiality.
