The Applied Technologies division at Wagstaff specializes in the engineering and fabrication of stainless steel gloveboxes for the nuclear industry. Our team is currently growing and seeks skilled professionals to join our mission of delivering high-quality solutions for the nuclear sector.
This position focuses on the primary fabrication, straightening, and welding of stainless steel components, alongside work with carbon-steel and exotic metals. All work is performed in strict accordance with a Nuclear Quality Assurance program. You will be responsible for executing complex fabrication tasks, interpreting mechanical drawings, and ensuring precise tolerances using calibrated precision measuring instruments like the Faro Arm.
In this role, you will not only perform TIG and MIG welding but also gain oversight experience with TIP TIG and Laser Welding. A key aspect of the position involves mentoring team members to develop their skills in technical documentation and welding procedure specifications. You will also play a vital role in maintaining traceability through detailed record-keeping, such as weld mapping on complex weldments, and identifying opportunities for product and process improvements.
The role operates on a Monday through Thursday schedule from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The working environment is a manufacturing setting that may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, machinery, vibration, fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level is often loud, and duties may require work in high places, outside weather conditions, or extreme temperatures. Strict adherence to personal protective equipment and clothing protocols is required to ensure safety.
Wagstaff fosters a family-friendly culture with company-wide events and monthly site-wide BBQs. Employees enjoy a 1200 Sqft onsite gym accessible 24/7, paid non-working holidays, an annual bonus program, and up to 8% retirement contribution. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
Employment at Wagstaff is contingent upon successfully passing a company-paid drug screening and background check. To learn more about our facilities and culture, you are invited to join us for a virtual tour at careerexplorenw.org.
