Substitute Nurse Coordinator Chelmsford Public Schools - Chelmsford, Massachusetts Job Details Job ID: 4850408 Application Deadline: Posted until filled Posted: Oct 28, 2024 Starting Date: Immediately Job Description The Chelmsford Public Schools is now accepting applications from current Chelmsford Public School Nurses and Substitute Nurses for the position of Substitute Nurse Coordinator for the 2024-2025 school year. This is a stipend position. General Description: The Substitute Nurse Coordinator will be responsible for providing nursing coverage for sick calls, personal days, medical leaves, and field trips for CPS nursing staff. The substitute nurse coordinator will respond to requests from nursing staff for coverage by utilizing the district substitute nurse list. Substitute nurses will be contacted, and once coverage is confirmed, the building nurse and the Coordinator for Nursing Services will be notified. Job Responsibilities: Begin to look for a nurse from the CPS sub list the day the request is made. Send an email/text to the nurse making the request that the request was received. When request is filled, notify the school nurse the name of the sub who is covering, enter on the nursing (google) calendar, and email Lisa Heffernan to activate the sub code in X2 for that building. If no substitute is found for the request, notify the Coordinator of Nursing Services. Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree is preferred, as well as licensure as a School Nurse from the Massachusetts Department of Education (DESE). Possession of a valid Commonwealth of Massachusetts license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN). Valid and current certification in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and AED from a recognized provider (e.g., American Heart Association). School Nursing experience is preferred. Demonstrated ability to be an effective communicator with staff members and able to maintain confidentiality.
