Who We Are: The Space Systems Directorate is a multidisciplinary team of engineers, program managers, and technicians to develop spaceflight missions, spacecraft, spacecraft avionics systems, spacecraft payloads, and lighter than air systems. Objectives of this Role: This position is for an EMC/EMI test technician that will report to the Spacecraft Integration and Test Manager and will support Space hardware/ Spacecraft electromagnetic interference and compatibility testing. Provide expert technician support, operations, and maintenance for various EMI/EMC equipment in accordance with MIL-STD 461 and/or EN-61000-4-3. Collaborate with Systems Engineers, Integration leads, and Project Managers to develop and execute EMI/EMC test procedures for space hardware/spacecraft. Strong understanding of EMC, RF and wireless communication test standards and requirements. Comfortable working in a multi-shift, fast pace environment with the ability to share information accurately and timely. Daily and Monthly Responsibilities: Follow test plans and instructions to set up and operate various EMI/EMC test equipment and software for testing of space flight hardware. Accurately records test results and prepare test reports. Performs regular laboratory upkeep activities and preventative maintenance for various laboratory equipment. Requirements: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Associates in Applied Science with a concentration in Electronics Technology or in Electronics Engineering is desired. Shift work required. 2-7 years: Experience setting up EMI/EMC equipment per test setup. Experience developing EMI/EMC test procedures and reports. Operation of EMI/EMC software and hardware test equipment. Knowledge of MIL-STD 461 and EN-61000-4-3 test methods is desirable. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
