Chelmsford Public Schools - Announcement of Teaching Vacancies for the 2024-2025 School Year The Chelmsford Public Schools is now accepting applications for the following anticipated vacancy. Position: Special Education Teacher Location: Chelmsford High School Specific Expectations (required/preferred) for the position: Provide special education instruction for students from 9th through 12th grade as outlined in students' IEPs. This position will provide specialized instruction in areas of ELA, math, executive functioning skills, and/or study skills. Instruction may occur in the general education (inclusion) setting or in a small group pull-out. Serve as special education liaison to assigned students. Conduct academic evaluations as part of the special education eligibility process. Work collaboratively with other general/special education teachers and administration to meet student needs. Job Responsibilities: Design, supervise, and implement students’ IEP plans Develop curriculum modifications and adaptations Participate in IEP Team meetings Write data-based progress reports that are reflective of student performance and IEP goals Collect and analyze student data and monitor student progress Effectively work with a team of professionals to coordinate services Consult with general education teachers and related service providers Manage and support para-educators who work with students on the assigned caseload Assist classroom teachers with instructional strategies to facilitate inclusion Administer various diagnostic achievement assessments (i.e., WIAT-IV, Woodcock-Johnson IV, Key Math, GORT 5) that identify student capabilities as part of an Initial and/or Three-Year Reevaluation for students Write effective evaluation reports summarizing findings and making recommendations for assigned students Position Type: Full-time Positions Available: 1 Job Requirements: Successful candidates will hold a Master’s degree in special education from an accredited college or university, preferred MA DESE Teaching License Appropriate grade level: Moderate Special Needs license (5-12) is required Training and experience with specialized reading programs (OG, Wilson, LIPS, etc) preferred Experience in modifying and adapting curriculum to ensure students can access the curriculum Ability to effectively consult and work collaboratively with various service providers and support staff Solid organizational skills Experience with IEP development is required Citizenship, residency or work visa required Application Questions: The employer requires all applicants to answer the following questions.
