POSITION SUMMARY: Vital Village Networks (VVN) builds community capacity to optimize child wellbeing, prevent early life adversities, and advance equity through coalition building, collaboration, leadership development, research, data sharing, and advocacy and is based within the Department of Pediatrics. The Center of Excellence for Immigrant Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (CIIECMH) is an interdisciplinary project within the Division of Behavioral and Developmental Pediatrics. CIIECMH’s mission is to improve access to racially and socially equitable developmentally-, trauma-, and socio-culturally informed infant and early childhood mental health services for children ages zero to five in mixed-status immigrant families through workforce support and development, direct services, and systems change. The Senior Training and Learning Specialist will work with both VVN and CIIECMH in the Department of Pediatrics at Boston Medical Center (BMC). The Senior Training and Learning Specialist will oversee daily operations of the Supportive Trauma Informed Interventions for Educators (STRIVE) program, and associated VVN efforts focused on promoting early childhood mental health and wellness. The role includes working with community-based organizations, school and early care systems, educators, families, community champions, and institutions to build collaborative partnerships, sustain and scale the network, and oversee network programs, and supporting the backbone functions of the VVN and supervision of support team members. This role will focus on leading, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating training content related to trauma-informed practices for children zero to eight, their caregivers, and systems of care and education. In this role, you will assist with network communications with Network members across digital platforms, systems development for internal and external purposes, and increasing access to programs for Network families and members. Responsible for scheduling key partner meetings and supporting internal financial processes. Communicates effectively and maintains documentation and recordkeeping. Through CIIECMH the Senior Training and Learning Specialist works with institutions and IECMH providers. The Senior Training and Learning Specialist will support the Center with managing coordination for training and consultation, developing training and educational materials, monitoring and evaluation, and managing data. This role will focus on training content related to supporting the workforce serving immigrant pregnant people and immigrant children ages birth to six and their families in pediatric hospital, community health, early childhood education settings, and clinical settings, and capacity building projects related to CIIECMH’s mission. Position: Senior Training and Learning Specialist Department: Pediatrics Schedule: Part Time ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES: Network responsibilities (VVN): Support manager/director with overseeing network projects and functions including but not limited to: STRIVE, Network Connection Meetings, community-based programs focused on socio-emotional wellbeing in early childhood. Supports manager/director with managing operations for STRIVE statewide implementation expansion and local partnerships. This includes setting annual program goals, objectives, and impact metrics with team, staff members, and partners; develops project timelines/work plans. Supervise support staff, including practicum students, interns, and VISTA members in onboarding and training, delegating tasks, overseeing daily activities, participatory research projects, and supporting opportunities for professional development. Help ensure families and partners can meaningfully engage in VVN activities and events through expansion of civic leadership opportunities, partnerships, volunteer coordination, and two-generation strategic programming. Training and Capacity Building responsibilities (VVN and CIIECMH): Support manager/director with strategic planning for providing training and consultation. Lead management of operations for training, including request intakes, partner meetings, contract agreements, deliverables monitoring, outreach, participant management, and training-related follow-up. Maintain, update, and create training content in alignment with branding and style guide, including presentations, curriculum, toolkits, handouts, and experiential learning activities. Deliver presentations and provide technical assistance for training. Facilitate integration of community co-design processes in training and curriculum development. Support the manager/director with Learning Collaborative initiatives. Support PDP/CEU/CME/CNE certification process. Support quality improvement and implementation change through data collection, synthesis, analysis, and dissemination. Support writing white papers, literature reviews, and other research activities that arise. Communications responsibilities (VVN and CIIECMH): Lead regular communication with staff, community partners, CBOs, stakeholders, residents, and IECMH providers (including calls, emails, blogs, newsletters, Zoom meetings, and webinars). Support in scheduling key partner meetings with staff and partners to ensure needs are met and there is timely follow-up. Meeting and Event Coordination and Documentation responsibilities (VVN and CIIECMH): Supports team and partner meeting scheduling and documentation, including notetaking, invitations, and meeting/video conferencing and technology tools. Provides support for meeting and event planning logistics, including facilitation or partner co-facilitation, site visits (when in-person), ordering supplies and equipment, printing, and other preparatory tasks. Support manager/director with updating processes and systems for organization tools. Program finances management responsibilities (VVN and CIIECMH): Support the financial reimbursement and tracking of expenses for directors and related projects. Grant Reporting and Program Sustainability: Provide development assistance to director to ensure sustainability, and activities include systems development, grant reports, and evaluation efforts. Maintains patient confidentiality. Utilizes hospital's values as the basis for decision making and to facilitate the division's hospital mission. Meets hospital-wide standards in the following areas: Conforms to hospital standards of performance and conduct, including those pertaining to patient rights, so that the best possible customer service and patient care may be provided. Follows established hospital infection control and safety procedures. Develops competencies as related to position. Performs other duties as assigned or as necessary. JOB REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION: Masters-level degree (MPH, MSW, etc.) CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED: None EXPERIENCE: At least five years working in the broader field of child health and wellbeing and childhood trauma with at least two years directly working in training, learning, and education. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Candidates should have experience in synthesizing complex medical information and in health communications. Candidates must have experience working in sexual and reproductive health, preferably in family planning/contraception. Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in the clinical setting, whether as a clinician (MD, CNM, PA, NP), nurse, medical assistant, or family planning counselor. Candidate should have topical knowledge related to contraceptive care and counseling, reproductive coercion, reproductive justice, racism in healthcare, and clinician/patient communication techniques. Candidate should have eye for visual appealing content and consistent branding and style guide implementation. Candidate should have graphic design experience. Candidate should have knowledge of adult learning principles and effective formats for communicating various types of content, including development of engagement activities. Candidates should have comfort with conducting research in PubMed and grey literature. Candidate should have comfort with receiving constructive criticism and appreciation of review processes. Candidate should have experience facilitating review processes with multiple stakeholders and integrating feedback effectively into training and learning materials. Candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Google Drives, DropBox, and Zoom. Candidates should be self-motivated and able to work autonomously with frequent check-ins. Candidates should have a track record of flexibility and meeting deadlines. Candidate should have experience with Articulate and Rise 360 programming. Candidate should have knowledge of CME/CNE approval requirements for educational content.
