POSITION SUMMARY: This position reports to the Deputy Director and works closely with our center's Director/Principal Investigator, Senior Manager, and other team members to ensure that NaRCAD excels in its mission to bring the strategy of clinical outreach education ("Academic Detailing") to public health organizations across the United States. NaRCAD trains health educators to provide interactive outreach education to frontline doctors, nurses, and pharmacists about current, evidence-based medicine across diverse clinical topics, with particular focus on the opioid epidemic, chronic disease, and HIV prevention and treatment. The strategy of provider outreach ignites clinician behavior change related to prevention and prescribing, with the ultimate goal of improving outcomes for vulnerable patient populations. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Communications&Program Development: 40% Managing NaRCAD's social media campaign to increase visibility, followers, and web traffic. Writing original content by interviewing clinicians, former trainees, and public health professionals for our best practices blog. Curating content for our quarterly e-newsletter. Curating new resources for implementation toolkits housed on the NaRCAD website, content editing for website, blog, and newsletter. Researching innovations in clinical outreach education for internal tracking and external promotion purposes. Analyzing data from the field and categorizing which topic areas are of most interest/use to these trainees/partners. Using active promotion techniques to increase number of network subscribers. Coordinating technology and logistics for webinars and virtual events (Zoom expertise preferred). Supporting communications/marketing efforts to promote educational events; helping to design, send, and track responses to event blasts and other engagement pieces. Educational Events: 25% Researching field speakers for the annual conference and other events. Helping to prepare slide decks. Maintaining working agenda of conference course offerings and speaker contributions. Supporting virtual and in-person events-based needs such as managing registration, liaising with participants, scheduling, etc. Providing and tracking updated logistical information to vendors involved in execution of training meetings, conferences, and materials development. Tracking expenses and supporting the Senior Manager in any related tasks. Additional Program and Administrative Support: 35% Scheduling and coordinating calls&webinars with partners. Tracking, coordinating, and note keeping for team meetings. Research for meetings with project partners, NaRCAD service partners, and other interested stakeholders. Grant-related tracking of program progress and support of all other program activities. Support reconciling program expenses. Provide relevant research and support on topic-specific academic detailing projects and partner collaborations. JOB REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree required (concentration in areas of public health, communications, education, social sciences, and similar fields preferred, but not required). EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 1-3 years of work experience in a team-based environment with proven track record of supporting complex projects and timelines. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Reliable team member with a strong work ethic. Passion for healthcare/public health and lifelong learning. Self-starter with ability to work well independently, as well as with a dedicated and enthusiastic team. Excellent written, organizational, verbal, virtual, and interpersonal communication skills. Exceptional attention to detail. Strong technology skills, including Microsoft Suite, Zoom, and X for business. Strong public speaking skills across multiple settings/to varied audiences. Potential for team travel for NaRCAD's field trainings and educational projects approximately 1-2 times/year. Preferred: Experience in non-profit and/or health-related settings a plus, particularly with programs whose work improves the health of underserved or vulnerable populations. Working knowledge of public health crises, especially the opioid crisis and HIV prevention. Experience with events planning a plus (e.g., trainings, conferences, workshops). Graphic design/layout work and related programs (e.g., Piktochart, Canva, Adobe, Publisher). Please note: This position is currently 90% remote, with in-person, Boston-based staff meetings multiple times per month, requiring a candidate who excels at pivoting between team meetings, community events, and independent project work.
