AHC SGMC Behavioral Health Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an experienced Recreation Therapist for our Expressive Therapy Department who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. As a Recreation Therapist you will: Organize and conduct therapeutic activities such as dance, music, arts, crafts, social activities, trips, group discussions and special programs according to the patients' needs, capabilities, and interests. Participate in the development of a treatment plan for patients after evaluating the patients based on their medical records. Document specialized therapy assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in the patients' charts. Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff by demonstrating knowledge of safety issues and proper use of equipment and supplies. Assist in ordering and maintaining the Expressive Therapy supplies/equipment. Observe changes in patients’ behavior and health condition and report to RN. Qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, Master’s degree preferred (e.g. recreation therapy, music therapy, art therapy). Certification as CTRS is required. Bachelor's degree in recreation therapy required, Master's degree preferred. 2 years’ experience in an acute care psychiatric setting preferred. Board Certification/registration preferred. Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Work Schedule: Sunday-Tuesday, 9:00am - 5:00pm Pay Range: $26.91 - $39.03 In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount or if the position is Per Diem (offering a fixed rate), salary discussions will occur during the screening process.
