Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Radiation Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for administering radiation treatments to patients as prescribed by oncologists, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Administer radiation therapy treatments to patients in accordance with established protocols and physician orders. Prepare treatment areas and equipment, ensuring all safety measures are followed. Monitor patient responses during treatments and report any changes or concerns to the medical team. Maintain accurate records of patient treatments, including dosages and any side effects experienced. Collaborate with oncologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans. Educate patients and their families about the treatment process, potential side effects, and aftercare. Stay updated on advancements in radiation therapy techniques and technologies. Skills Proficient in medical terminology related to oncology and radiation therapy. Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to cancer treatment. Experience with mammography, CT scans, and other medical imaging techniques is preferred. Ability to work in acute care and critical care settings as needed. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare team members. Compassionate demeanor with a focus on patient comfort and care during treatments. Strong attention to detail for accurate treatment administration and record keeping.
