Full Time ALDIND This position will support the new Saint Francis specialty pharmacy services scheduled to begin in early 2025 near Warren Clinic Tower. Onboarding and training will occur at select Saint Francis outpatient pharmacies in the Tulsa area prior to specialty pharmacy services starting. Job Summary: The Pharmacy Care Navigator enhances the patient experience by coordinating with clinic and pharmacy staff to overcome barriers to drug access via prior authorization submission, copay and funding assistance, delivery coordination, proper electronic health record (EHR) documentation, and appropriate escalation of patient concerns. Minimum Education: High School diploma or GED. Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: State of Oklahoma Pharmacy Board Technician Certification. National Technician Certification and Advanced Specialty Certification, strongly preferred. Work Experience: Minimum 2 years of retail or specialty pharmacy experience. Experience with prior authorization, patient funding, and knowledge about specialty medication, preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and other applicable software applications including basic math calculations. Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills including exceptional customer service skills. Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner. Proven ability to be detail oriented as required in the examination of clinical and numerical data. Ability to work independently and have effective time management skills. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Serves as a patient point of contact to introduce services provided by the specialty pharmacy team. Provides support and ensures established operations and processes run smoothly so patient access to medication is timely. Facilitates communication across key provider, wholesaler, insurance, manufacturer, and pharmacy stakeholders. Completes patient enrollment, prescription processing, and answers inquiries regarding benefits and prescription status. Researches within the patient’s electronic health record to collect data needed for successful prior authorization submission. Gives copay assistance to patients and explores grant funding availability to assist with drug affordability. Conducts patient outreach to provide medication adherence support. Works across the care continuum to ensure concerns are resolved quickly and escalates issues, as needed. Decision Making: Independent judgment in planning sequence of operations and making minor decisions in a complex technical or professional field. Working Relationships: Works directly with patients and/or customers. Works with internal and/or external customers via telephone or face to face interaction.
