Responsibilities The New Choice Center for Addiction Recovery is a 28-day, intensive, individualized hospital program for addiction treatment and detoxification. Medical detoxification is supervised by our professional staff to help manage the acute physical symptoms of substance withdrawal in a secure environment. Participants will also take part in individual sessions and family sessions with case management, as well as direct consultations with our medical team of addiction specialists. JOB SUMMARY : Serves as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Assists in managing unit under the leadership of the Program Coordinator and Director of Social Services. Implements programming for individuals and groups of patients. Shares responsibility for consistently seeking to understand the meaning of verbal and non-verbal communications among staff and patients. Acts as a role model (including therapeutic use of authority, confrontation, limit setting, and provision of emotional support). Also responsible for all appropriate documentation for the New Choice program. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Establishes therapeutic relationships with patients and provides assigned patient care in accordance with the general policies, philosophy, and objectives of the New Choice Department and the hospital. Implements interventions appropriate to the developmental needs of the patient in accordance with the treatment plan, demonstrating sound clinical and professional judgment and competency. Monitors unit milieu and maintains a safe, therapeutic environment for patients, family members, and staff. Accurately and thoroughly documents interventions using goals developed in the plan of care, master treatment plan, and treatment plan revisions. Demonstrates knowledge of various substance abuse and mental health commitments and their effect on patient treatment. Demonstrates knowledge of the 12-Step Program of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous. Conducts and documents observations on all patients every 30 minutes (required by all shifts). Provides counseling to other patients/residents in the facility as needed per their treatment plan. Qualifications Education : High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field preferred. Experience : Minimum of one year of experience in chemical dependency, education, and group facilitation preferred. J-18808-Ljbffr
