THE ROLE Cognizant Technology Modernization is changing the game in Data, Cloud and Generative AI based consultancy services. Tech Modernization is almost like a boutique consultancy inside of Cognizant that creates change in how technology is used and fosters an innovative engineering culture. We’re looking for a Senior Consultant, Cognizant Consulting who can deliver within Cognizant’s Five Pillars of Consulting Excellence, which are: 1) Project Execution, 2) Expertise, 3) Business Development, 4) Practice Development,&5) People Development. As the Senior Manager, this means overseeing advisory consulting engagements, being a trusted advisor to clients, establishing oneself as a thought leader in your field, solving complex problems, consultatively working with a client to achieve business goals, driving contributions to offerings and innovations, and serving as a people leader, guiding multiple teams as they work to transform a client and the world. In addition to enabling consulting excellence through the Five Pillars of Consulting, the specific requirements for this position are below. RESPONSIBILITIES Be onsite at the client location in Foster City, CA 5 days/week Provide thought leadership and strategic guidance on solving complex business challenges, creating custom solutions, and reducing administrative overhead by leveraging Jira features, such as issue types, attributes, custom fields, issue links, workflows, and automation capabilities. Develop comprehensive Jira implementation documentation for handover to implementation teams. Test and conduct demonstrations of new Jira functionalities in the development environment, collaborating with implementation teams to refine and prepare for production migration. Design and map out data backfill/migration workflows for new functionality being rolled out to production. Work in close partnership with the central Jira admin team to ensure recommendations align with cross-organizational standards and expectations. Enhance change control management processes. Develop scope definition documentation. Design Polarion integration workflows for milestone tracking. Establish a comprehensive risk register. Improve delivery reporting capabilities with enhanced tracking of phases/features per release milestone (e.g., detailed burndown charts). Lead Jira ticket migration efforts to support the transition to the new structure. QUALIFICATIONS Strong Plug-in and JQL experience Must have proficiency over Groovy scripts Agile coaching experience and must have worked in large Agile and JIRA implementations Proven expertise in Jira/JIRA administration, customization, and optimization. Strong experience in designing and implementing workflows, automation rules, and data migrations within JIRA and JIRA Align. Ability to provide strategic and innovative solutions aligned with organizational goals. Effective communication and documentation skills to support cross-team collaboration and project handover. Work Authorization Cognizant will only consider applicants for this position who are legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship (H-1B, L-1B, L-1A, etc.) Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary for this position is between $98,853 - 158,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
