Summary The primary purpose of this position is to ensure the company's compliance with federal, state and local tax obligations by managing the filing of complex tax returns. This role also includes responding to tax inquiries and controversies from authorities, driving continuous process improvements through technology, and assisting in various capacities to train others in the tax group. This position will report directly to the Tax Manager/ Senior Manager but will work cross functionally with individuals throughout the global tax team, operational business units, and/or Corporate Finance. This is a hybrid position based out of our Inver Grove Heights, MN office. Responsibilities Skills: • High level of accuracy in preparing and reviewing tax returns and workpapers. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain tax-related information to management. • Work at an advanced level to understand and effectively use standard office equipment and standard software packages to support business processes. • Work with full competence to determine and analyze trends from data that is collected to assist in compiling reports that will help in decision-making. • Work with full competence to create reports, and review reports created by others, for various audiences as relevant, in a lucid and effective manner, keeping in mind the purpose of reports. Knowledge: • Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local tax codes and regulations. • Proficiency in using OneSource tax preparation software and OneSource Tax Return Workpapers (Excel Add-in). Abilities: • Ability to identify and resolve tax-related issues effectively. • Stay updated with changes in tax laws and adapt to new tax preparation software and tools. • Keep detailed and organized records of all tax-related documents and interactions with the business. Minimum Qualifications (required) Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Business, Business Administration, or related field 7 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, and/or Tax Accounting Additional Qualifications Preferred: CPA, J.D., LL.M. in taxation and/or Master's in taxation (MST), Master’s of Business Taxation (MBT) from an accredited college/university recent corporate tax experience in a Big 4 public accounting firm, corporation (Fortune 500) and/or law firm. Experience with corporate taxation, complex consolidations, partnerships and a basic knowledge of ASC 740 CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications.
