This position will be home-based and requires daily travel to local customer sites within the geographical region. There is the potential for 50-60% travel outside the region, as needed. All expenses are covered and a company credit card is provided. This position might be eligible for a Fleet vehicle ( determined by hiring manager and based upon meeting mileage criteria). U.S. Citizenship is Required - Candidate must be able to obtain necessary clearance and/or credentials as required . The types of clearances could include, but are not limited to, Homeland Security clearance, background and credit checks, and more. Passport or ability to obtain a passport is desired, international travel may be required . What will you do? Focus on the deployment of BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) and PV (photovoltaic) . Customer-facing position - the successful candidate must work well in a team environment and will interface directly with installing contractors and end-users daily. Responsibilities for this position include providing installation support (guidance) to install teams, managing personal and team calendars, technical support for regional contractors, permit/inspection support, Schneider representation at trade shows/events . Testing, validation, troubleshooting, and installation of current and future product iterations Consulting with customers to determine system operation requirements. Configuring and commissioning Schneider Electric and 3rd party hardware. Documenting the as-built system. Travel up to 75% to customer sites is required . Most of the travel is domestic with occasional international opportunities. Serve as the backend feedback loop to R&D teams What qualifications will make you successful? Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering , Journeyman/Master Electrician licensing , Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent experience. Experience with electrical fundamentals as well as with electrical equipment. Full comprehension of installer KPI’s and installation methods Thorough understanding of all applicable codes and standards Ability to both follow and develop standardized processes Willingness to travel both regionally as well as out of state as needed. (50-60% out of state travel potential). Stable work history. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a group setting, team-oriented, self-motivated, and results-driven. Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving history. Desirable Qualifications: Experience related to developing new PV/BESS/EVC products and market introduction. Experience working around residential electrical equipment such as service equipment , generators, UPS systems, etc. Thorough understanding of power generation, power distribution, and power quality concepts. Knowledgeable in computer programming languages ( Linux, Visual Basic, Python, etc.), databases (SQL), and HTML development. HMI configuration experience, including graphical screen development. Notes: The first 3-4 weeks involve training and safety classes (online), followed by on-the-job training, partnered with a peer. This will require more than typical overnight travel until candidates get the necessary experience. Job sites can change regularly or remain constant for long periods , depending upon client demand. Clients are primarily installing at residential properties, but occasionally commercial/industrial sites may require support. Mileage reimbursement or fleet/rental car vehicle options.
