Introduction to the job: The Data Quality and Trusted Dataset Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining data quality solutions for transactional datasets across the organization to ensure accuracy, consistency, and trustworthiness and for developing and maintaining reliable and trusted datasets for data consumers. This role requires strong technical expertise, the ability to understand how data can impact the business, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to implement solutions and best practices in data management. Role and responsibilities: Data Quality Development: Design, develop, and implement data quality solutions to ensure the integrity and accuracy of transactional datasets. Collaborate with data stewards and data owners to define and implement data quality rules and standards. Develop and maintain logic for data validation rules and data quality report generation to identify and rectify data quality issues in collaboration with data stewards. Utilize advanced knowledge of data management principles and practices, including data profiling, data cleansing, and data enrichment. Investigate reported issues on data quality rules logic and determine solutions. Trusted Dataset Management: Develop and maintain trusted datasets that meet organizational standards for data quality and governance. Collaborate with data owners to define the metadata of trusted datasets. Monitor and report on the quality of datasets, providing insights and recommendations for improvement. Investigate reported data quality issues on trusted datasets and provide solutions. Technical Implementation: Utilize database management, data virtualization tool, and systems analysis to support data quality and trusted dataset initiatives. Develop and execute test plans for data quality solutions and trusted dataset development, ensuring compliance with standards and best practices. Coordinate the implementation and deployment of new initiatives or changes to production environment. Document training materials as necessary. Collaboration and Communication: Interact with cross-functional teams (managers, engineers, data analysts, IT, upper management) to build constructive and effective relationships. Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Communicate data quality issues, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders and senior management. Process Improvement: Conform to the approved Software Development Process and Program Development Process, championing process improvement. Continuously look for ways to improve existing processes to reduce inefficiencies and enhance data quality. Education and experience Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field. MS or PhD is a plus. A minimum of 5 years of experience in data quality management, data engineering, or related roles. Strong knowledge of data management principles and practices, including data profiling, data cleansing, and data enrichment. Hands-on experience with data quality tools and technologies. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. Advanced knowledge of database management, data virtualization tool, and systems analysis and design. Skill: Experience with data management tooling such as Informatica or Collibra. Experience with data governance frameworks and best practices. Knowledge of machine learning and data analytics tools and frameworks. Understanding of software development lifecycle processes and tools. Strong programming skills in languages such as SQL, Python, Denodo, or similar. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to translate, statistically analyze data, and effectively report problems through written and/or graphical formats. Ability to work under deadlines and handle aggressive timelines with agility and a results-driven approach. Wearing of eye protection in manufacturing areas is required. Must be able to read and interpret data, information, and documents. Can observe and respond to people and situations and interact with others encountered in the course of work. Can learn and apply new information or skills. The current base annual salary range for this role is currently: $86,625-144,375 Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members. Employees will also receive eight (8) hours of vacation leave every month and (13) paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
