Position: Cat Scan Technologist - $7500 sign on bonus Department: Radiology Schedule: 32 hours, 3pm-11pm, Tues and Wed. 3pm-7am Thurs Union: SEIU POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the CT Scan Supervisor, the CT Technologist provides CT skills and initiatives to the department mission through interactions with staff, and others as necessary. Primary duties are to work as a Technologist on either East Newton or Harrison Avenue campus while also implementing policy and procedures as determined necessary through CT Scan Supervisor and Radiology Administrative Director. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES: Operates a CT (computed tomography) scanner to perform technologist duties as required and necessary for proper departmental work flow. Performs appropriate studies as determined through policy and procedure. Follows requisition in terms of providing proper study for patients. Prepares patient for exams as required and insures patient comfort and modesty at all times. Sets up equipment as necessary and uses proper imaging techniques. Completes procedures in timely fashion while providing quality images for Radiology and outside departments. Participate in intravenous (IV) training, and passes all competencies required to start and administer IV contrast material under the general observation of a qualified physician. Maintains equipment through interaction with both management and department service vendors. Performs patient focused customer service and ensures the following standards are met appropriately and achieved. Provides service and care to patients of all ages. Monitors patient’s conditions and takes action to facilitate the best course of care. Ensures that all required documentation is properly completed for billing purposes. Works hours as regularly scheduled or according to the operational needs of the radiology department. Follows all departmental established and appropriate policies and procedures as required. Treats patients and fellow staff with dignity and respect and reports any/all problems to the supervisor. Follows established hospital infection control and safety procedures. JOB REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION: Must be a graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED: Must be ARRT registered in Radiologic Technology. CT Specialty required or obtained within one year of employment. BLS or CPR required. EXPERIENCE: Minimum 1-2 years experience in diagnostic radiology, experience in CT preferred. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Must possess analytical abilities necessary to acquire and effectively utilize knowledge of imaging processes, techniques and procedures and cross-sectional anatomy. Working knowledge of Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Hospital Information Systems (HIS).
