Full Time (80 Hours/Biweekly) Shift: Day Two 12 hour shifts (7a-7p) and two 8 hour shifts (7:30a-4p) shifts per week Rotating Weekends, Holidays and Call General Summary Performs routine and specialized CT radiologic procedures at an advanced skills level. Performs procedures to produce computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of designated anatomical areas according to established practices and procedures. Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions: Performs CT Scan studies; obtains patient history, explains routine procedures and addresses patient concerns. Prepares and maintains written documentation as required by the profession and the department. EHR proficiency Under the direct supervision of the physician, administers intravenous contrast media. Recognizes complications (e.g., contrast reaction) and treats appropriately. Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations. Positions and transfers patients comfortably, immobilizes patients as necessary, and practices radiation safety procedures. If necessary, will take call to meet the needs of the department. On call requirements are defined separately by each hospital Examination compliance: CT biopsies and drainages, all CT protocols, IV skills, trauma and stroke protocols, advanced 3D reconstruction, independent workstation proficiency, daily scanner QC, OR proficiency, if applicable. Assisted Survey Readiness preparation. Mentor for CT Technician and CT Tech I Common Expectations: Assesses and interprets patient age specific data and provides appropriate, age specific treatment. Provides direct patient care to assigned patient age group(s). Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required. Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Proficient contrast administration policy knowledge Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation. Appropriately segments and archives images and exams to the PACS archive. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas. Attends meetings as required. Qualifications Minimum Education: Associates Degree Required Work Experience: 2 years Progressive responsibility in a diagnostic imaging department Required Licenses: Registered Technologist-Computed Tomography - ARRT Upon Hire Required or Certified in Computed Tomography - NMTCB Upon Hire Required and Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required Courses and Training: Accredited program in radiologic technology and training in computer tomography procedures Upon Hire Required
