Who We Are: The HVAC shop is the backbone of campus climate control, ensuring all HVAC systems are in optimal condition. We're a 24/7 operation, with dedicated night and weekend staff who act as first responders for any campus emergencies. Objectives of this Role: Monitor building HVAC&fire alarms, assist with verbal reports to security as needed, and ensuring proper system functionality during nights and weekends. Serve as the first responder for accidents, providing immediate assistance until emergency services arrive. Maintain CPR/AED and First Aid certification. Support the security team by reporting any unusual activity or facility issues that could impact safety, assisting in incident reports as necessary. Diagnose and perform minor repairs on HVAC equipment during the shift to minimize downtime and disruptions. Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols. Complete safety checklists as required. Daily and Monthly Responsibilities: HVAC System Oversight and Maintenance: Monitor DDC systems daily, address alarms, and conduct monthly evaluations. Read schematics, manuals, and blueprints. Responsive Communication and Coordination: Handle varied daily phone requests, effectively communicating with supervisors, co-workers, and project engineers. Immediate Action and Troubleshooting: Perform daily system resets and repairs, exhibiting a moderate skill level in troubleshooting and maintenance. Fire Alarm Monitoring and Documentation: Regularly monitor fire alarms, respond to phone calls, and demonstrate knowledge of safety rules and procedures. Adaptive Task Execution and Reporting: Execute diverse nightly tasks, showcasing adaptability. Use a personal computer for monthly reporting and documentation. Requirements: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Shift work required. 1-5 years: Related experience and general building maintenance knowledge. 1-5 years: Strong communication skills and must be able to assess alarm issues and notify proper personnel. 1-5 years: Computer knowledge related to building management system. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
