Location: CHA Cambridge Hospital Work Days: M-F 9-5:30pm Category: Human and Social Services Department: RISE Job Type: Full Time Work Shift: Day Hours/Week: 40.00 Union Name: Union of Social Workers Seeking a Supported Employment and Education (SEE) Specialist for a First-Episode Early Psychosis Treatment Program. This program is part of the Massachusetts Early Psychosis Network and is guided by the NAVIGATE model for Coordinated Specialty Care. The position is based at 2 CHA locations, Cambridge and Malden, to serve a large catchment area that includes Cambridge, Somerville, Malden, Everett, and Boston’s Metro North Region. Caseworker Position: The Caseworker will provide coordinated care for patients, aiding patients and their families with finding resources in the community, connecting patients with treatment resources, and providing education to patients and families as needed. Supported Employment Specialist: The SEE Specialist provides culturally and linguistically personalized support to assist program participants in identifying their occupational interests, applying for, retaining, and advancing in competitive employment and educational opportunities. This role involves actively seeking individualized job and education opportunities through various methods, including internet searches, job fairs, cold calls, mailings, walk-ins, networking, and presentations to civic organizations. This person will locate and develop community contacts to assist in job or university tours, situational assessments, job placement, and follow-along support for individuals. They will maintain regular contact with employers, educational institutions, and individuals served to respond to issues as they arise. The SEE Specialist will also assist in providing transportation to work sites and oversee all vocational assessments, including career planning assessments and vocational summaries. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, psychology, rehabilitation counseling, special education, or related fields preferred. Training in education and vocational counseling. Experience working with patients who have had psychosis. Massachusetts resident with knowledge and experience of community resources. Valid Massachusetts driver’s license required, with access to an operational and insured vehicle for community meetings. Experience in evidence-based treatments for individuals with early psychosis preferred.
