Job Details: SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing technical assistance to producers caring for the company’s birds in regards to the proper care and comfort. Duties include but are not limited to advising producers regarding building and equipment specifications, litter manipulation, and farm sanitation. Responsibilities also include farm visits to document bird comfort, manage the flock and equipment settings, monitor bird health and provide remedies when possible, monitor feed consumption and order feed if necessary, pull blood and fat samples on time when required, coordinate chick placements to the farms, and assist with catch schedules. Ensuring communication between hatchery, feedmill, and livehaul as it pertains to their contract farms is essential, as well as ensuring compliance with production contracts to produce flocks of the highest quality and lowest cost. Additionally, all USDA and other government regulations must be followed when handling poultry. Other duties may include working with the Broiler and Breeder Departments in coordinating weekly chick placements and performing other responsibilities as needed. REQUIREMENTS : Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred. Experience: 1 years of professional experience in agriculture, business management, or poultry. Computer Skills: Elementary computer skills such as checking electronic mail, entering data into document templates, or creating simple queries. Travel: 1 to 5 trips per year.
