The Coagulation Laboratory Supervisor (Early Mornings) serves as a pivotal leader within the Pathology Lab, ensuring the seamless day-to-day operation of the Core Lab section. Reporting to the Manager, this role is responsible for coordinating daily activities, managing staffing, and maintaining the highest standards of quality care and patient safety.
In this position, you will balance administrative oversight with hands-on laboratory work. You will direct departmental activities, manage equipment and supplies, and ensure compliance with all hospital and laboratory safety policies. A key part of your day involves setting up new methodologies, developing procedural protocols, and acting as a writer and reviewer for lab procedures. You will also serve as a mentor and trainer for new staff, conducting team huddles and in-services to foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
The role requires a proactive approach to quality assurance. You will monitor staff attendance, review daily reports to ensure testing is completed correctly and timely, and address any policy deviations or behavioral issues in real time. By participating in performance improvement activities and supporting the quality assurance officer, you will help the department meet rigorous regulatory and accreditation standards.
This position operates on 8-hour shifts during early morning hours. You will work either 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM or 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
