About the Role
As a Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, you are the bridge between our patients and their healthcare needs. Beyond dispensing, you play a key role in maintaining the pharmacy's efficiency by managing inventory, processing claims, and coaching team members on correct processes. You may also assist in administering clinical services, such as collecting samples, and help build relationships with the local medical community to enhance growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleEngage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services

- check_circleAssist in the practice of pharmacy under the supervision of the pharmacist
- check_circleFill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs
- check_circleVerify medicine is correct and check for possible drug interactions
- check_circleRegister all related sales on assigned cash register and handle cash as required
- check_circleProcess and resubmit manual claims for third party program prescription services
- check_circleCoach pharmacy technicians and cashiers in the correct use of processes and tools
- check_circleAssist in administering clinical services including collection and labeling of blood or urine samples
- check_circleLead pharmacy department inventory management activities including ordering and storing shipments
- check_circleMaintain pharmacy department cleanliness and ensure adequate supply stocking
Requirements
- verifiedPTCB or ExCPT certification
- verifiedOne year of work experience as a pharmacy technician
- verifiedFluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
- verifiedWillingness to work flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours
- verifiedWillingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire
Nice to Have
Prior work experience with Walgreens. Basic math skills (counting, measuring, and weighing medications). Basic level PC skills (e.g., starting/shutting down computers, using a mouse, switching between programs, saving files, printing documents, accessing information online). Knowledge of store inventory control.
