As a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) at Avera McKennan Hospital, you will care for patients across the lifespan at all acuity levels. Your work will span a variety of settings, supporting procedures including surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and pain management.
In this role, you will be integral to the patient journey, performing pre-operative assessments and establishing a clear plan of care to communicate to patients and their families. You will manage the critical aspects of anesthesia, from establishing and maintaining essential venous access and airways to inducing, maintaining, and monitoring anesthesia throughout the procedure. Your responsibilities extend to managing the emergence from anesthesia and transferring care to appropriate staff upon termination. Additionally, you will conduct post-operative follow-ups for each case performed.
Beyond direct patient care, you will serve as a clinical instructor for anesthesia students, guiding the next generation of providers. You will work effectively within a team, coordinating workflows while adhering to safety principles and regulations associated with CMS, The Joint Commission, DHHS, and OSHA.
