As a Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, you play a vital role in supporting the pharmacy team and delivering a distinctive, delightful customer experience. Working under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, you assist in the practice of pharmacy while ensuring all activities align with state, federal, and company policies. Your presence helps maintain a clean, orderly, and efficient pharmacy environment where patients feel supported and valued.
Your day involves a blend of clinical support and customer engagement. You will utilize pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and ensure data is entered accurately. When PTCB certified, you may also coach other technicians and cashiers on system operations. Beyond the counter, you handle telephone calls to physicians, process manual claims for third-party programs, and assist with inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals.
Customer interaction is central to your role. You will greet patients, offer assistance with products and services, and resolve issues to ensure a positive experience. You may also assist in administering clinical services, such as collecting blood or urine samples, and help coordinate with healthcare clinics and external providers. Additionally, you will support the pharmacy manager in building relationships with the local medical community through outreach to health groups and care facilities.
To join our team, you must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico) and be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. While prior retail experience and strong math or computer skills are preferred, we are committed to developing talent through our designated PTCB training programs. Maintaining PTCB certification or state registration is a condition of promotion to senior technician.

Six months of experience in a retail environment. Prior work experience with Walgreens. Good math skills for filling prescriptions accurately (counting, measuring, weighing). Good computer skills. Knowledge of store inventory control. PTCB certification.
