As a Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, you play a vital role in supporting the pharmacist and ensuring a distinctive, delightful customer experience for every patient who walks through our doors. You will be the face of our pharmacy, engaging with customers to resolve issues, answer questions, and build strong relationships with our most valuable clients. Your work directly impacts patient care by assisting in the accurate and efficient processing of prescriptions while adhering to strict state, federal, and company regulations.
Your day involves a dynamic blend of clinical support and customer service. Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, you will utilize pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, enter data accurately, and assist in filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring medications. You will also handle cash registers, process manual claims for third-party programs, and manage inventory activities such as ordering and storing pharmaceuticals.
Beyond the counter, you may assist with clinical services like collecting blood or urine samples and supporting the coordination of healthcare clinics. You will also help maintain the pharmacy's appearance and stock levels, ensuring the department remains clean, neat, and orderly. If you hold PTCB certification, you will have the opportunity to coach other technicians and cashiers on system operations.
We are committed to your growth. Successful candidates will earn and maintain PTCB certification through our designated training program or state-required certification. You will attend regular training sessions, complete required PPLs, and acquire continuing education credits to stay current with the latest healthcare developments. This role serves as a foundation for advancement, with PTCB certification often being a condition for promotion to a Senior Technician.
