About the Role

As an Operating/Building Engineer, you will play a critical role in keeping our facilities running at peak performance. This position centers on operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment across all building systems. At JLL, we are collectively shaping a brighter way for our clients, ourselves, and our fellow employees, and your technical skills will be essential to delivering the reliable, high-quality facility operations our clients depend on. You will manage complex building systems, respond to emerging issues, and ensure our facilities meet and exceed applicable standards while our clients' operations continue seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities

check_circleOperate, maintain, and repair mechanical, plumbing, structural, fire, life safety, and control systems
check_circlePerform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems including cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing parts
check_circleRecord equipment readings and system parameters to identify potential issues before they escalate
check_circleMonitor the quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors
check_circleTroubleshoot and repair lighting systems including ballast replacement throughout the facility
check_circlePerform maintenance and repairs on plumbing fixtures and operate drain cleaning augers to resolve blockages
check_circleComply with departmental policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials
check_circleConduct periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory to ensure equipment is available and properly maintained

Requirements

verified6-8 years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems
verifiedHigh school diploma or GED equivalent
verifiedAbility to analyze Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC systems
verifiedWorking knowledge of CMMS (i.e. Corrigo)
verifiedEPA 608 Type II Certification or higher preferred
verifiedAuthorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Nice to Have

EPA 608 Type II Certification or higher for refrigerant handling. Additional EPA certifications (Universal certification preferred). Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Trade certifications or technical school training in HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing disciplines. Experience working in mission-critical facilities or environments requiring 24/7 operations.
